Multioxide-superoxide dismutase enzyme-nanocomplexes and their antioxidant activity

Abstract Growth of bionanotechnology requires functional materials, which can lower the costs and be modified to specific reaction. Conjugations nanoparticles enzymes form efficient products multi-material enzyme-nanocomplexes, controlled from synthesis application provide predicted results. Multimetallic nanooxides ZnO–CuO, ZnO–MnO, ZnO–MnO–CuO were obtained by precipitation method with sonication, followed microwave process. Superoxide dismutase (SOD) was immobilized on surface nanoparticles. Obtained nanomaterial-enzyme complexes had antioxidant properties. Particles characterised XRD, SEM TEM methods ATR spectroscopy proved enzyme-nanooxides conjugation. Scavenging activity materials average 85% in DPPH (2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl) 20 mg/l TROLOX (6-hydroxy-2,5,7,8-tetramethylchroman-2-carboxylic acid) concentration, where pure SOD enzyme presented around 90% 10 activity, respectively. Conjugation highest power is ZnO–MnO SOD, however all three types could used further applications. Graphical abstract
